British artist Ella Du Cane (1874-1943) is known for its wonderful landscape watercolors. Mary Ella Du Cane was the third youngest daughter of politician and colonial administrator Sir Charles Du Cane. She was born in Hobart, the Australian state of Tasmania in 1874. After the service of his father as governor of Tasmania, the family returned to their homeland in a country house in in Breksted Park, Essex, UK. Works Ella Du Cane came to prominence in 1893 after showing her works in the New Society of Artists watercolors. Queen Victoria in the period from December 1895 to August 1898 acquired 26 works by Ella Du Cane. In 1905 the artist was invited to illustrate the book "Italian Lakes." Building on this success, I decided to make a book of illustrations on the theme of Japanese gardens with text written by her sister, Florence Du Cane (Du Cane Florence). The book was published in 1908, entitled "Gardens of Japan" (The Flowers and Gardens of Japan) (London: Adam & Charles Black, 1908)). The following year, the sisters released a second book "Gardens of Madeira". Ella Du Cane died in 1943. from the disease. She is buried with her sisters in the Church of All Saints, Great Breksted.
